A bit about Marcus F

My specialist subjects are Business Studies, Economics and Finance. (GCSE, A level, BTEC, Foundation Degree levels). I have 22 years experience teaching in Further Education Colleges, Secondary schools, and at University level. Over the years I have mainly worked with both A Level (Business Studies & Economics) & BTEC students across a number of different syllabuses, at various institutions in the South West & South East of the UK. I am currently a programme leader for Business courses along with being Lead IV & Standards Verifier / Examiner for one of the main examining bodies. I also have several years experience teaching at University levels 4&5 on the Foundation Degree qualification for both Business & Accounting & Finance. I have experience of working with & supporting SEN students both in Secondary Schools and Further Education. After graduating from university with a degree in Business Management I started working for a local FE college managing their information systems, this led me into part time teaching, mainly teaching on evening courses & Higher Education qualifications. Within a couple of years I had moved fully into teaching delivering lessons to 16-18 and Higher Education students - this was the best career move I made! I am QTS qualified & hold a degree in Business Management from the University of Northampton, I gained my teaching qualification through the University of Plymouth. Teaching is a career I really enjoy, I pride myself in working with young people and adults aspiring them to achieve their dreams. I spend my spare time engaged in academic research & pride myself in having high level up to-date knowledge, I believe that this really adds value into my lessons through adaptive application of theoretical concepts. I carefully take the time to ensure what I am delivering best meets the needs of the students, this helps ensure that achievement targets are met. I work closely with students in this planning process, it is important to understand the individual needs of students to ensure that their learning is not only relevant, but also achievable & enjoyable. I believe learning should be fun, diverse and interactive, to allow students express, critique and develop their understanding.
