A bit about Kathryn

I completed a degree in Psychology before doing a PGCE in Primary Education. I have been teaching for 4 years now and love seeing children learn and grow. The needs and views of my students are my main priority and I will always follow their lead. I am enthusiastic and energetic about the subjects that I teach and enjoy learning through games and fun lesson ideas. I teach all subjects across the EYFS-KS2 curriculum. Due to recently completing a degree in Psychology I am open to supporting Psychology students at A-Level or Degree Level. I have completed a PGCE so have experience of essay writing at Masters level. My lessons are fun and engaging. I enjoy starting my lessons with a fun game to get my students engaged. I differentiate my lesson for each different learner taking into consideration their strengths and learning styles. I always end my lessons will a fun round up, helping to consolidate the learning from that lesson. I have been teaching at Primary level for 4 years and throughout that time have done lots of face to face tutoring. I really love that light-bulb moment when a child understands something. I enjoy seeing the pride on children's faces when they do well and feel proud of themselves. I am a fun and energetic teacher who likes to learn through games, songs and stories. I have excellent behaviour management skills and like to make my students feel valued in the classroom. My favourite thing about being a tutor is forming a personal relationship with your students. I feel that once you get to know a student, the teaching becomes personal to them and helps them learn and thrive, reaching their full potential. My greatest success whilst teaching is taking a child who started the school year with little to no English and watching him learn to read. The day he read his favourite book by himself, independently is a day I will never forget. That every child is unique! I am fun and energetic. My lessons are always exciting and memorable and no two lessons will be the same. I have a degree in Psychology and a PGCE in Primary Education. 3 A-Levels (B,C,D), 10 GCSE's (A-C). I had a really great Primary School teacher who I will never forget. I wanted to be that teacher that children never forget. I also care a lot about our future generation and wanted to make a change to children's lives. I enjoy reading, especially romance books. I like going to the theatre on the weekends and enjoy dancing and acting. I enjoy running to help myself keep fit and have a dog who I like to go on long walks with. I teach EYFS, KS1 and KS2. I am open to teaching GCSE and Degree Level Psychology although I do not specialise in any particular exam board.
