A bit about Artemis P

I have been tutoring for 3 years, first volunteering during the pandemic to help bright students from disadvantaged backgrounds prepare their Oxbridge applications. My first student has just completed her first year of medicine at Cambridge! I now tutor science and Maths at GCSE and A-Level and continue to tutor students through the government schools programme to help students catch up on missed lessons because of the pandemic. I am a third-year medical student at the University of Cambridge. For my medical school application, I completed both the BMAT and UKCAT admissions tests and was in the top 10% of students in the latter. I have experience tutoring both. At A level I studied Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths achieving A*, A*, A*, A respectively. During lessons I use diagnostic questions to discover which topics we should cover. I then go over the core skills and why we use them to make sure the student understands the reasoning behind the topic and how to approch relevent questions. I can then check the students understanding by going through past paper questions. I find this lesson plan useful when first getting to know a student and then adapt to the students needs and wishes as we progress.
