A bit about Susan P

I am an experienced teacher of Business Studies GCSE and A level including OCR, Edexcel, BTEC, AQA , IB and Cambridge. I try to make my lessons fun and interesting and I hope we both enjoy our time together I have been nominated by my students twice for the national teaching awards demonstrating the good progress and the great relationships we build. I hope to be working with you soon My specialism is in teaching GCSE, IB and A level Business Studies in the British Curriculum, I have taught and marked exam papers for various boards including OCR, AQA Edexcel and Cambridge I also have experience those with additional learning needs and I love to bring the best out in my students My lessons usually start with an engaging opener so students feel motivated to learn. I like to teach using a combination of various tasks so I can check what works for my students in order for them to be the best then can and understand how they learn best. We usually end with a consolidation task so I can check your understanding before we move on to the next topic I have been online and face to face tutoring for the past 16 years I began when I was asked to help students that were not in a school setting I have had many successful students who have gone on to exceed their targets and enjoyed their lessons My passion for students and my subject motivates me to deliver great lessons. I find Business Studies really interesting and it's application into the real work facinatung. Everything is Business so it's easy to find interesting case studies to embed understanding and drive motivation I have a friendly , kind understanding approach I understand that everyone learns differently and we all have good and bad days so I know I have to adapt my lessons to my students every lesson. I have a great sense of humour and my students always say I am smiley when I teach because I genuinely love the interaction between us (there will be some laughs ) I genuinely love bringing the best out of someone. If my student gives up on themselves I will not give up on them. I love a success story and there are many of them which is why I love my job so much I enjoy seeing my students smile and succeed We all learn in different ways. My job is to ensure I bring out the best in you and help you succeed. Making your learning interesting and engaging , developing deeper understanding as we work noone learns effectively without enjoyment and engagement and hopefully we will have a few laughs along the way I have a good sense of humour and I like to deliver fun, interesting and engaging lessons building on your best styles of learning it's important that we get along and build good relationships with each other in order to learn effectively. I check understanding before we move on so noone gets left behind I have taught students that were told they would never pass and together we have gained them really good grades. I build excellent relationships and deliver Interesing engaging lessons that bring out the best in students and allow them to reach their potential I have a BA first class honours degree with QTS in Business and ICT plus a MA in education I had a wonderful teacher when I was in school and I looked forward to her lessons. I wanted to be the same inspiration to other students she brought the best out in me not only academically but also personally. Teaching is about the whole person I have two dogs who love to run on the beach every day, I enjoy house music and watching live musicians perform . I love to socialise with friends and also I like to learn new things. I am currently learning Spanish (it's hard!) I have experience of teaching the AQA, Cambridge, Edexcel and OCR exam boards.
