A bit about Chris R

I usually start with a free trial call where I say hi to the student and speak through the areas that we might need to improve on and work through. After this the next lessons involve going over the specific topics within Maths or English to get my student up to the highest level of knowledge. I think it's important to be kind and patient with my students. This isn't like at school where they might struggle to speak up about what they find difficult within a subject, but in a warm area they won't feel judged. I believe every child has the ability to be brilliant at Maths or English, and they just need the right teacher to achieve this. Every student I've taught so far has shown great improvement, even typically from very early on. I often speak to the parents, and get really excited when they send me over their child's most recent grade and how much they've improved. I tutor Primary through to GCSE. I specialise in Edexcel and AQA within English Language, English Literature, Maths and Maths statistics. After graduating from Oxford, I thought back about how difficult I originally found my GCSE's growing up, and realised that a huge amount of my high grades were due to my private tutor. I spent a weekend with him before tutoring, and took as many tips from him as possible before deciding to work as a tutor myself. I really do believe that there are no bad students, just bad teachers, which so far I like to think I'm proving.
