Royal Society of Chemistry teaching scholar with 5 years experience
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
After working as a Medicinal Chemist (synthetic organic chemist) in the Pharmaceutical industry, in 2015 I was awarded a scholarship from the Royal Society of Chemistry to train as a teacher.
I have 5 years' teaching experience at Ofsted Outstanding Schools, two of these years include teaching at a grammar school.
I am supportive, patient and friendly and my teaching style is calm and clear, I like to ask questions to get my students doing the thinking and learning. Sessions usually involve some theory linked tightly to exam technique and terminology, some practice and finishing with some exam questions.
Daniel helps my son in his A-Level chemistry. My son would normally have a hard time going though topics which require a high level of calculations that require both patience and time. His teaching revolves around a more displayed working out, replicating mind maps at the end. Because of this, my son is finding it easier to understand the topics.
Where do I go from here?
You can send Daniel C a message through Sherpa and they will usually get back to you within 24 hours. You'll receive an SMS and email notification when they do so.
How do the introductions work?
Sherpa gives you the opportunity to meet our tutors in a free 20 minute introduction, which takes place through the Sherpa classroom.
How do lessons work?
All lessons take place through Sherpa's online, industry-leading classroom. This is a combination of a collaborative, real time whiteboard and a video call, like Zoom.
