I am an ambitious tutor with passion for maths and science.
I am BEng general engineering student at king?s college London. I am an aspiring tutor with passion for maths and science. Base on my previous tutoring experience, I am confident with creating trusting and cooperative environment that ensure academic, social, and emotional growth of pupil; as well as bring ideas, energy and excitement in my teaching. I am skilled in making challenging, enriching and innovating activities that engage students and address their diverse interests and needs.
Tutoring is my priority and therefore I always have time during the day to research and prepare material for the session. I have started my professional tutoring journey at NLET academy. I tutored many students at this tuition centre for one and half year. I had to prepare lessons and provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate and build confidence in them. In addition to this I needed to maintain records of students' assessment results, progress, feedback and ensuring confidentiality of all records.
While I was part time tutoring at NLET academy, I started working as a full time Teaching Assistant at Cranford Community College to help SEND students effectively access the curriculum taught in the school. I had to work and plan with the class teachers under the direction of the line manager to ensure that work is well differentiated for SEND students. part of my role I had to teach maths to small groups of 5 outside the main teaching area. I successfully worked at Cranford Community College for a year and then I had to stop and continued with my studies at King's College London.
I work closely with the exam specification provided by the exam board because these documents provide information on what the students need to know for their exam. First I try to establish the level of the student and then I determine the best way to help the student. I do this so I can break down the exam specification in a way that is comprehensive to the student. My goal is to provide a sharp, clear linear approach to the problem that is faced by the students. I teach my students how to read and understand the questions before trying to answering it.
With your request, I can provide students with homework to reinforce what they have learnt during the session.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my profile and I am looking forward to hear from you
