A bit about Aaron S

Committed, knowledgeable and professional practitioner in all areas of Sport, Fitness and Physical Education. Experienced Teacher and Tutor of PE at GCSE, BTEC and A-Level with AQA, OCR and Pearson/Edexcel examining boards I specialise in nutrition, where I can provide an in depth analysis into the dietary requirements of a professional athlete including micro and macro nutrient requirements for elite level athletes. I have an extensive knowledge of the human body and how this can be trained for optimal physcial peformance and what muscles allow this sport specific performance. I have also delivered PE curriculum across KS3/KS4, FE and HE so adapting lessons to meet any level is not an issue and comes naturally. I always like to start a lesson with a catch up to build a relationship with my learners, which will be followed by an introduction to this lesson and a recap on what we have covered previously. The next part of the lesson contains specific detail to your requirements and includes designed activities to stretch and challenge your knowledge. Upon completing this, a recap again of the learning taken place will be completed, followed on by a plan disucssing what future sessions will contain and of course, the tasks which need to be completed in your own time. I first started tutoring in 2013 where I was delivering BTEC Sport to academy footballers, I worked with a number of clubs including Walsall FC, Macclesfiled Town FC, Carlisle United FC, Coventry City FC and Tranmere Rovers FC. Following on from this, I went on to teach with NSCG in which I delivered to full time students and apprentices a range of Sport and Fitness based programmes from L2-L5. The next step took me to helping create opportunites through Boxing for those children who were unable to access mainstream education alongside a full academic programme. At this point, we helped over 106 children achieve qualifications they would have not previously achieved. I am currently working as a Sport and Quality assessor for a large training provider based in London. Over the years, I have worked with a number of high profile athletes including Eddie Hall, Tommy and Tyson Fury, Nathan Gorman, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Stoke City Football Club. As a result of this I have gained a wealth of experience of elite level sport and I love to pass this knowledge onto the people I work with who are keen to learn and develop this sector. As a teacher, I like to take a learner led approach at which point I can provide building blocks for learners to enhance and develop their knowledge. This way, I can be supportive while developing a learners sense of ability to complete tasks independently. My favourite thing about being a tutor is meeting new people with a passion for all areas of sport and guiding them with my knowledge down the correct career path for them. I am a huge advocat of 'hard work pays off', in whatever area this is of life and this is the exact same academically. If you are a person who is willing to go that extra mile and complete the work required, I will be the ideal tutor for developing your learning. As a person, I like to think I am approchable and quite humerous and this reflects in my teaching style. As previously mentioned, I like to build a relationship with all of my learners and get to know what makes them work and tick, doing this will allow me as a tutor to stretch and challenge your learning needs to ensure the best learning experience for you. I have had a number of success stories over the years including some of the elite level athletes that I have worked with. However, helping children who previously had no way of acheiving any type of education, to qualifications which has seen them now gain employment would have to be my greatest success.
