Experienced, well qualified and friendly science tutor
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
I have been teaching secondary school science for almost 20 years at various schools. During my teaching career I have been Head of Key Stage 3 Science, Head of Chemistry, Academic Deputy Head and Headteacher. I have taught AQA, OCR and Edexcel science specifications and been a team examiner for A level OCR and Edexcel. Prior to teaching, I was a university lecturer having gained a first class honours degree in Chemistry and PhD from Southampton University.
I have been teaching using mobile technology both in the classroom and remotely for 10 years having setup one of the first apple schools the UK. My subjects are Chemistry to A level with Physics and Biology to GCSE. With my students I aim to clearly explain the fundamentals of a topic, going through worked examples and then support them as necessary in attempting increasingly challenging questions, with a focus on exam technique.
I began tutoring when I was completing my PhD in Chemistry. I have continued throughout my teaching career, supporting my colleagues and friends' children. I have taught secondary school science and A level Chemistry since 2003, setting up a youtube channel and chemistry website to support learning.
