Patient, Encouraging and Experienced Graduate Teacher of Maths
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
I specialise in Secondary school Maths. I teach the Scottish National 5 and Higher level, these are equivalent to the UK GCSE and A-level syllabuses which I am also very comfortable teaching.
I have been teaching Maths at Secondary schools in Scotland my whole career. Since retiring, I have taught many individuals on a one-to-one basis. This was face-to-face pre-pandemic but I have recently moved online and see the great potential of learning opportunities available.
I am now retired but I enjoy helping students to achieve their goals and get great satisfaction from seeing them progress and gain confidence in their subjects. I have great experience of classroom teaching to students of all abilities as well as some online tuition and I am patient and believe the one-to-one aspect of online learning can be very beneficial in obtaining good results.
I plan to achieve a specific outcome of both understanding and competency in a topic ie. the better the student understands the concept the more permanent the learning will be in that topic and the more easily it will be recalled when needed. It sometimes takes longer to achieve a deeper understanding but it is worth it in the long term.
