An enthusiastic primary teacher with 30 years experience
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
I studied for a joint honours English Literature and Education degree at Homerton College, Cambridge, qualifying as as a primary school teacher in 1989. My main subject at University was English Literature and I love enthusing children about great books and encouraging them to enjoy reading.
I have tutored many pupils at school, patiently helping them work through individual study plans successfully. I have also worked with gifted and talented pupils on reading and writing challenges.
I think 1-1 or small group tutoring is especially effective because it is possible to put your child at the centre of the process and to personalise the learning entirely to an individual's needs or interests.
My most recent classes have been in Year 6 which means that I have plenty of experience in preparing children for the Year 6 SATs and in supporting them in the transition to secondary school.
