English language teacher - 15 year's experience in ESOL and IGCSE
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
Obtained PGCE through Bath Spa University and an MA in Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL) from the University of York. Returned from the UAE in 2018 after 9 years of teaching English language and other subjects (e.g. careers education) to young Arab men and women in local colleges and schools. Have also taught IGCSE English to service personnel in the Royal Marines based at Poole.
I enjoy the challenge of teaching but also the opportunity it provides to change lives and make a difference to the community. By way of illustration I organised a community project at my first school in the UAE, where we worked together to create a garden on a patch of waste-ground. This was a cross-curricular project involving Biology, Maths and English.
I have an up-to-date DBS (update service) and am a Fellow of the Society for Education and Training (SET). Also obtained QTLS.
