A bit about Savannah

I hold QTS and a PGCE along with a BSc in Computing. I have experience of teaching in a school setting working with KS2, KS3 and GCSE computer science in addition to DIT Level 1/2 BTEC. I believe that education is a right for everyone. Everyone has the capability to learn, although not everyone learns the same way. Teaching for me is not only imparting knowledge, but hoping to share a passion and enthusiasm for my subject with anyone that wishes to learn. Particularly as a female in a STEM specialism where women are under represented. I specialise in Computing and IT. I’ve always been passionate about technology and studied IT at A Level and Computing at degree level. I am knowledgeable about the KS3 and GCSE computer science curriculum. At university, I worked with Databases, Python and Java Programming, HTML and CSS, and UX design. I'm currently working in a SEND setting working with primary-aged children with autism. I have worked with AQA computer science students, although I am also knowledgeable in other exam boards. I have also worked with Digital Information Technology BTEC students and am knowledgable in the assessment process and have been an assessor. I have taught years 5 through to 11 in computing. I enjoy video games and movies, particularly Marvel and Star Wars. I am an animal lover and also have a passion for music and theatre. I had a difficult time in secondary education. I felt none of my teachers really noticed me or understood me and I decided I wanted to be the teacher I wish I’d never had
