A bit about Tim D

I am a dedicated teacher with nearly 45 years of classroom experience teaching English and Drama to ‘A’ Level, in the UK, the American High School Diploma in Saudi Arabia and IGCSE and IBDP in Azerbaijan. I pride myself on the high standard of work my pupils have produced and I consider their exam results a testimony to the quality of my teaching and my ability to inspire the pupils with whom I work. As well as my extensive teaching experience I also have two Masters degrees in English, one in Victorian Literature for Liverpool University and another in Creative Writing from the Open University. I specialise in teaching English up to ‘A’ Level and beyond. We take a text, non-fiction, novel or poetry and tease it apart until you understand what is going on and can confidently write about the text for an assignment or an exam. In 1998 in and around the North West of England. That ‘eureka’ moment when a student suddenly ‘gets’ it! Informal, but enquiry based, always questioning the text to discover its hidden secrets so we both can share the joy of discovery. Really being able to help students learn, grow and succeed. Everybody can succeed, learn, grow and conquer the academic mountain they may feel is confronting them.
