A bit about Sabina B

I am a primary school teacher with 10 years of experience. I have worked at a variety of schools across the curriculum from EYFS to KS2. I have also worked as a supply teacher and a tutor. I specialise in phonics and have had RWI training. I also teach Primary English, Primary Maths and Primary Science. I like to start with a quick recap of previous learning and then link it to the learning objective for the current session. Then we move on to a starter which might include a quick game/activity which is linked to the session. After that, we focus on the main activity which involves me modelling with a few examples and the pupil will then independently carry out the activity. We then finish it off with a plenary. The plenary could be an evaluation of what was learnt in the session or a challenge to further get the pupil thinking! I tutored KS2 students earlier on my career before I went into full time teaching but have started tutoring again since the start of 2019. I love teaching pretty much everything! But my favourite will always be writing a creative story. I like to keep things quick and simple to keep the pupil engaged. I like to give simple instructions so it’s easier to follow and understand. I also like to make things exciting and engaging which is why I like to include lots of learning games in my sessions. I love the confidence I can bring about to a pupil and when they suddenly get a ‘light bulb’ moment after I explain something they didn’t initially understand. Never give up and always try your best! They love my creativity! Getting pupils who had no knowledge of reading to be able to read simple words and sentences. I have a QTS and have completed my PGCE Primary degree in 2011. When I was 7 year’s old I didn’t know how to read or write but then I was offered a mentor to help me learn to read and write. Within weeks I was able to read and write confidently. That’s when I realised how much impact a teacher/ tutor can have on a child so I wanted to do the same for others. I love fashion, reading and designing my home! I teach EYFS and primary pupils.
