A bit about Rich L

I have over 10 years' experience teaching English to 11-19 year olds in the UK, Internationally and Online. I served for over 20 years in the Royal Air Force and currently live in Spain. I am married with a daughter and a little dog named Teddy. Build a rapport. Be kind. Teach the student not the subject. Have fun! By building self-belief and confidence, many of my students have over-achieved by as much as two grades. Furthermore, I was graded as an outstanding teacher by my school. But for me my greatest success in teaching is that I still love to teach! They tell me it's my rather silly sense of humour! A BA in Literature, PGCE English and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). I am also qualified to teach English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). I came from a poor, working class background and struggled to understand the importance of education and didn't work hard and study. I joined the Royal Air Force at 16 years old mainly because I had limited job prospects due to my lack of formal qualifications. I educated myself during my career and want to help all young people achieve their educational potential while they are young and not make some of the mistakes I made.
