Mr. Wong

I am a classical musician with 21 years of piano, violin, viola, music theory teaching, piano accompaniment and orchestral conducting experience, both in primary and secondary school classes and teaching individual students. I have also completed preparation and training for music exams (ABRSM, Trinity College London and London College of Music).

My education and background meet the requirements of the institution: 2 Fellowships and 1 postgraduate, in London College of Music and Trinity College London.

Having been a music teacher for 21 years, I fully understand the contents and curriculum of the ABRSM and Trinity College London graded examination. I have helped many students to achieve: the majority of my students have passed their graded practical and theory exams, from initial grade to grade 8. Many of them have achieved merit or distinction in ABRSM Grade 8, both piano and violin. The highest marks which a student achieved were 82 in solo piano for an AssociateDiploma at Trinity College London, as well as 92 in solo piano for a Licentiate Diploma at Trinity College London.

I have received the safeguarding training in the music services every year for the past 7 years and  I can strictly follow the instructions if there is any unexpected situations arise during the lessons, and make sure the rest of lessons can be finished on time.

As a very experienced music teacher, music staff in music services and a lecturer in the UK, I believe I always respect and encourage students at all times. According to the safeguarding training in the music services, I can demonstrate patience and professionalism irrespective of circumstances or standards of performance, as well as showing sensitivity and awareness of others.

Being a music staff in the music service, these are all essential qualities in order to deliver the curriculum smoothly and to help students achieve their goals.

I have experience of assessment, in the IB, BTEC, Rock School and Victoria College of Music, both the practical assessment and markings of the music theory examinations. I believe my experience and assessment skills can meet the requirement of the institution.

Also, I have experience on the UAL?s L2-4 music and performing arts curriculum, I believe my experience and skills can lead the learners of the institution to the highest level.
