A bit about Yana F

I specialise in teaching English as a second language as I have experienced the whole process myself, I believe I understand what the best way to learn is. I also speak Russian and French so that’s a bonus! I also love Maths, I find it so fun! I plan out my lessons very carefully, planning it by minute and stick to it as much as possible. I believe that both children and adults I have taught before have enjoyed every single minute and was even sad when the lesson ended, as I have positive energy and vibes throughout! I first started tutoring when I was only 15, when I realised I had a great talent in maths. I thought maths was so fun and great to teach. However, later on I realised I am very good at languages and decided to study it at university. After being in education for so many years, I decided it’s finally my turn to give back, overall I’ve been teaching for 3 years. I love the idea of passing on my knowledge to another person, the idea that with my help they are able to reach their goals and targets, open more doors and become a more of an open minded person! One thing that I do teach with is passion. If I don’t love teaching then how can I expect my students to love learning?! I adapt to my students needs and wants and listen carefully to their interests, so later on I can base my lessons off their interest which would be more fun for them. I am also very encouraging, I never say ‘no’ or ‘that is the wrong answer’, I motivate people to give it a go even when they have no idea what the answer is, that way they will have a go and remember for next time the right answer. My favourite thing is definitely the students. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love. And of course, the idea of passing on my knowledge to others. I think my students love my passion, my smiles and how witty I am in the classroom. I can adapt to anyone’s teaching needs and even adapt my personality to suite theirs, which makes me a more likeable person for them. It’s all about making sure the students feels comfortable around the teacher, then that way a great lesson is learnt as well as a great relationship. I believe I have made an impact on my lovely students by making them more confident. I was inspired when I was 9 years old. I met the best teacher of my life, who helped me see my full potential, who made me a successful person I am today, who made me proud of myself. I would love to one day inspire and motivate someone else the same way I was inspired. It is an incredible experience and I couldn’t be more grateful.
