A bit about Iona R

I first started tutoring during my GCSEs for younger students. I have now seen these students into their A Levels. Now I mainly focus on GCSE and A level students but I do still have a small group of primary students which I am teaching for 7 and 11 plus admissions. I enjoy tutoring all age groups and have only seen positive results from my tutees so far. I specialise in GCSE and A Level English and Economics. Having taken a shine to them at school myself I am now furthering my studies in them at University. I am versed in exam techniques for all courses in both and enjoy teaching both subjects throughly and teaching my students to love them too. My specialty in English itself is literature specifically poetry and Shakespeare papers. As I mainly teach older students I like to take a more informal style than that of a school lesson. I note that especially with essay subjects such as English and History that the students learn more through 40% conversation in the lesson and 60% writing than just focusing on one question. As it helps us to delve into each subject more and thus get the A* my students are looking for.
