A bit about Lucy

I have taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics in various schools for around 9 years and have tutored for longer. Additionally I have worked for several years as an examiner and write content for online education platforms. I have also worked as an intervention specialist, I pride myself on my students making the maximum progress in the shortest time! My students also benefit from my take away resources to carry on practising in between sessions! I teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3+GCSE and Biology A level I find out what the student current knows on an agreed area of the topic. We could for example start a mind map together or list keywords. The necessary content is then covered to ensure there are no gaps. Understanding is checked using key questions. Then we go over exam technique and practise longer exam questions. The learning is always a journey which can begin with more modelling and support at first to show how to be successful, as confidence increases the student should be able to do more with reduced support.
