A bit about Darlene S

I am a qualified science teacher (PGCE) with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Malta, and a Master's degree in Chemistry from Imperial College London. I teach all three sciences up to GCSE level (AQA and Edexcel), further specialising in Alevel Biology and Chemistry (AQA, OCR and IB). I plan my lessons based on the needs and abilities of my students. I believe that great lessons start with recall questions from previous lessons and topics. This helps my students build on their preexisting knowledge and make links between different topics. Furthermore, my lessons are interactive and engaging to ensure that my students can develop the necessary skills and knowledge associated with the topics. My passion for teaching started years ago when I started tutoring my friends' siblings. While completing my PGCE during the pandemic, I started online tutoring to help more students from all backgrounds to reach their full potential. I absolutely love teaching science as it helps students get a wide range of skills while also getting a better understanding of how the world around us works! Outside of teaching, I love to go for hikes, cook, read and play basketball!
