A bit about Charlie

Hello my name is Charlie. I am an enthusiastic, approachable and attentive teacher, psychology graduate (and dog mother) with lots of teaching experience! I appreciate the value of individualised teaching and 'a personalised approach' to learning (meaning that all of my teaching is specifically tailored to each individuals learning style and personal requirements). I do not believe in 'one style fits all' in educational development. You are unique and i respect that! I am experienced in teaching psychology and counselling to students of various ages; some of whom i have taught and supported through their Bachelors degree at University in the pursuit of a psychology or psychotherapy career! I can adapt my teaching style and syllabus to each individual and therefore have an approach to suit both the little ones and the more mature learner! (including GCSE, A-LEVEL, DEGREE). I have taught online and in person at University; and have a passionate interest in brain and behaviour, mental health, neuroscience, psychology and psychotherapeutic care. I am highly motivated and eager to support you on your journey in psychology, however, i am also attentive to your needs surrounding your education (academic pressure, stress, exam preparation, personal circumstance which may influence your learning etc). I am therefore able to support you with your academic AND personal development, as an experienced teacher and trusted mentor. My wonderful students have regularly shared with me how attentive i am to them as individuals, ensuring that each and every person is able to comfortably learn at a pace, and in the style that suits their personal approach to learning; thus further helping students to reach full potential (and encouraging many more future successes!). Students have also kindly shared that my energy, excitement and 'quirky' approach has been a huge part of their love of learning and in helping to maintain a consistent high energy and motivation during their studies! I look forward to bringing that spark to your journey! I am professional, experienced and highly reliable, with a first class bachelor of science degree in Psychology and Counselling. I am also personally experienced in providing therapeutic care, with the knowledge and competency to support people in both academic and personal contexts. I will also be training at masters level next year, further developing my knowledge of person-centred therapeutic care (which will partner my existing BSc (Hons) degree in psychology).
