A supportive and creative teacher with a wealth of experiences.
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
I have been working in a range of learning environments for more than 15 years: Primary Education, FE Colleges, Adult Education and with ex-offenders and community groups. I revel in teaching in a range of contexts to a wide range of people. I initially trained at Roehampton University on the 4-year BA Primary teaching course. Whilst I loved working in primary education, a curiosity for dance was too strong not to pursue and my professional dance training began alongside my teaching work. Later, after solidifying my dance career I have managed to give time to both dance and teaching. I have been teaching in FE 16+ colleges and at City Lit in Covent Garden. Alongside teaching contemporary dance, ballet and other dance courses, I have been supporting GCSE/functional skills in maths and English and essay writing/research skills for degree work. I have continued working with younger students in 1:1 and group tutoring roles.
This wide way of working is very much a part of who I am. I speak Italian and Spanish and have been teaching English to foreign students. I am a keen guitar player and singer in my leisure time and very much believe in holistic, well-rounded ways of working.
I have found that my eclectic education and wealth of experience has made me effortlessly able to jump into different ways of working to connect to the individuals I teach. Building sound relationships with my students is paramount to a fruitful and enjoyable learning experience. I am particularly interested in fostering curiosity for learning and confidence in my teaching style regardless of their age or experience. I am personable, supportive and collaborative in my teaching approach.
