A bit about Michal F

Hi, my name is Michal. I am from Poland, but I study Mathematics at Imperial College. I've been tutoring for over 4 years now and I loved it from the beginning. I really enjoy sharing maths and physics knowledge with others. Outside of studying my biggest hobby is volleyball. In maths, my favourite subjects are pure maths like functions, series, sequences. In physics, I like the most mechanics and thermodynamics. I start my lessons by explaining the theory behind the subject we are bout to study. I do this by stating and proving or explaining formulas, giving examples of how to use them. Then we move on to solving some problems where I give as many suggestions and hints as necessary. I've been helping my friends with maths and physics since primary school and I liked it even back then. I started proper tutoring in middle school and I still enjoyed it. When I got into university I started looking for students more seriously as I knew I really enjoy it and it is a nice way to earn some money. I love how in both maths and physics there are always several ways to solve a problem. I also like how sometimes seemingly completely different solutions actually depend on the same thing to work. I also like trying to understand the thinking of another person and adjusting the explanation accordingly. I put a lot of weight on understanding the concepts, not the calculation itself. I always give explanations and proofs of theorems and proofs as I believe that it significantly reduces the load necessary to be learned by heart.
