A bit about Alain

I have a huge passion for teaching Maths. It is a subject I feel entirely confident in, and this is reflected in my ability to teach in a simple highly effective manner to cater for students of all standards and abilities. Over the years I have been a specialist tutor in KS3 and GCSE Maths for the last 7 years and also been a Maths teacher for the last 14 years. I teach all exam board this includes Edexcel, AQA and OCR. I mainly teach what students require on daily basis by mastering and reinforcing what they have learn in school. I will go over specific topics, build up assessment papers and use past exams papers to enable students to revise and be ready for future examinations/tests. I have excellent communication skills; I am flexible and adaptable in my approach to teaching, and I will always deliver positive results for your school based on the defined curriculum. My students get excellent results and even achieved a grade higher than their target grades. Many of my students go on to six form college to study further Maths. I am passionate about Maths and languages (French as it is my first language). I love football and athletic. I played as a semi professional footballer from 2002-2005 with Teambath at the University of Bath during my undergraduate studies. I have been also involved in BUSA in the UK. I have a degree in Chemistry from Bath University in 2005 and PGCE in secondary Maths from UWE in 2007. I am a Maths secondary school Specialist (KS3 and KS4). I have obtained my PGCE 15 year ago in Mathematics and have worked in further education institution and secondary school as part of my placement which I successfully completed. My strengths include my understanding of how important it is to be supportive of the school I am teaching at, and that basis, I would say I am politically aware. I have an inclusive style of teaching and I am a strong communicator, both in the classroom and whilst speaking to parents. I will be available Wednesday-Friday from 10:30-12:30 during school' holiday and Saturday-Sunday from 14:00-17:30 during the academic year. My teaching planning is in line with the Scheme of work provided by the school. This enable me to plan diligently to suit students' learning. During my years of experience I have continuously adapted my teaching styles to help pupils to excel further. I believe all students are unique and individual in their own way, and as such, it is my responsibility to use a variety of different teaching methods and styles to cater for everyone. Nobody should be left behind, feel isolated or be excluded from the same high standard of teaching that everyone deserves. I have started tutoring 6 years ago and this has helped me to see different approaches to teaching in the classroom in comparison to face-to-face tutoring. I have to say from my own experience that tutoring enables students to express freely what they should have done during lessons because of behaviour issues.
