A bit about Victoria O

I've been a tutor for about nine years now. My first professional opportunity to tutor was as an undergraduate in university, but before then, I supported my friends' younger siblings through their homeworks, projects, and studying sessions. I have tutored students from all different backgrounds: from programs for underprivileged communities to highly ranked private schools, my passion and commitment to each student is unwavering. I am currently an MSc student for Sustainable Urban Development and earned my BA in Environmental Science and Policy and Portuguese-Brazilian Studies. I speak Spanish and Portuguese and have always been passionate about language, literature, and history, having studied all five of these subjects extensively during my undergraduate years. As each student is unique, my approach to teaching is adaptive depending on the specific needs of the student in question. I'm flexible, patient, and encouraging. I enjoy offering a supportive presence and helping students gain confidence in their knowledge and abilities. I validate their own unique forms of intelligence, expression, and honor their individual styles of learning. I respect students as budding intellectuals and do my best to nurture their capacity to grow as students at every opportunity.
