This battle is famous for being known as the ‘Bull Run’ - but only because that was the name of a local stream!

The Civil War was prevalent at that time. There were the Battle of Bull Run, near Manassas Junction, which was a significant moment as the confederates (led by General P.G.T. Beauregard) won with 20,000 troops against the unions 35,000 (led by General Irvin McDowell).
