A bit about Jill D

I am a fully qualified teacher of Business. I currently teach at a local Grammar School and I am Head of Year in Sixth Form. These practical experiences alongside my academic knowledge enable me to teach students effectively, raising achievement and tailoring my tutoring to students individual needs. I enjoy seeing my students reach their full potential and find it extremely rewarding to see continuous improvement. Through teaching at a highly academic grammar school for the past 13 years, being Head of Year in Sixth Form and UCAS leader, I am very knowledge in the field of ensuring students reach their full potential through knowing what the examiners are looking for in answers. I have vast experience in both GCSE and A Level and have taught OCR, Edexcel and AQA specifications. I take a pride in planning effective, active lessons, focusing on the specification alongside examination requirements. The grades my students achieve speak for themselves with the majority getting levels 7 to 9 at GCSE and A* to B at A Level. I enjoy planning effective resources, guides and help sheets to enable students to follow them easily and maximise their full potential. I lead my sessions on aiming to develop and build on independent learning skills, targeted revision strategies and techniques equipping students with the ability to become more driven and effective learners. I believe that effective feedback is key to developing students current and future learning. My style is very unique and will be catered specifically to the student I am tutoring. I have excellent resources which have been tried and tested and can be adapted to all specifications. I will be focusing on ensuring all students have strong subject knowledge on all topics and secondly that they can apply this subject knowledge to examination questions. A strong focus will be on assessment objectives set by the examination boards to ensure students can reach those top grades.
