A bit about Simon R

NOW TAKING BOOKINGS FOR YEAR 10 AND 11 AQA PUPILS FOR SEPTEMBER. Fully qualified/experienced English teacher. I have also tutored for 12 years with much success and been an examiner (language and literature) for several major exam boards for fifteen years, so I know what a pupil needs to focus on in order to excel in their GCSE exams. GCSE AQA English Language and GCSE English Literature. I personalise tutoring sessions and learning resources to suit each individual learner to make them more accessible and enjoyable. I am especially successful when it comes to building confidence in 'reluctant learners' or with pupils that previously have not enjoyed English. I recognise the obstacles pupils face when it comes to understanding the confusing criteria of some exam boards. I will try numerous approaches and explore different learning resources so we can find what works best for each individual pupil. Most pupils remember me for my patience and sense of humour! Many pupils have some great ideas and opinions but at school they are often too afraid to share them in a classroom full of peers. With one-to-one tutoring, they usually feel a lot more confident in voicing these thoughts. I now focus on Year 10 and Year 11. I specialise in AQA Language and Literature.
