A bit about Rhys J

I have a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Music, and spent over 4 years private tutoring in piano, drums and music theory. I currently work as an international recruitment officer for a university but love teaching in my spare time. I'm originally from West Wales but currently live in London. Feel free to get in touch! I specialise in the following subjects: Music (piano, drums, music theory, GCSE & A-Level) Spanish German English (GCSE & English as a foreign language - TEFL qualified) KS3 Maths, RE, Science I usually spend between 30-60 minutes and break my lessons into 3 parts: 1) the teaching - look at the materials and set some goals of what we'll learn 2) practice - immersion is key, be it for a language or music. Actively practising together will enhance the amount of knowledge you retain. 3) evaluation - look at what we've learned together, go through any doubts/questions, and set tasks to revise ready for next lesson. I first started tutoring over 10 years ago and have tutored since being an A-Level student myself. My students say I am a fun, interesting and productive teacher. I stay enthusiastic and make sure I deliver lessons in bitesize chunks so that students never find the subject too intense nor boring. I am qualified with a BA Hons Modern Foreign Languages & Music. I also have 2 TEFL qualifications and have a valid DBS check. Skiing, snowboarding, surfing, swimming, travelling, playing music. Being a tutor means I am your own personal teacher. The questions you're afraid to ask in class, I can help with. Any doubts you have about your coursework, I can fix them. Having a 1-to-1 session is so beneficial to the student, and I love being able to explain things in a way that is tailor-made to my students, so they can understand things in a way they might not have been able to before. Main exam boards - WJEC, AQA, ABRSM Music Year groups - I have experience teaching all ages, whether it be a Year 4 student starting off in Spanish or a Year 12 student preparing for their German A-Level.
