A bit about Nicola L

Hi, I'm Nikkie I live in the north-west of UK I have 2 dogs 1 labrador and 1 collie that keep me fit. I have taught ICT and Computer Science in secondary schools for 18 years and now looking to tutor for a living. I specialise in teaching most ICT software packages, Programming in Python and Computer Science all at KS3 and KS4 level. In my lesson I have a Do now activity to get your thinking skills prepared, then an activate activity where I teach you about the skill or knowledge that you are learning we will then move onto the resilience task where you will be tested on what you know and finally a plenary to put it all together. I am a friendly teacher who will ask you how you are getting on. I try not to go to fast or make you feel silly for not knowing things. We all have to start somewhere. Pupils make much more progress when it is 1 to 1 rather than a classroom. I also get to know you better and make more accurate judgements about your progress. They like my friendly approachable personality but they know where the line is and they know they need to work hard in order to get the assessment questions correct. I have taught Edexcel Computer Science and OCR Nationals iMedia.
