A bit about Shaku

My Name is Shaku Enrile. I am married and have two daughters aged 26 and 18. I have been teaching at primary level for 24 years. I also teach 11 plus. I currently teach Year 5 and am English, PSHE, Antibullying and School Council Lead. I am a fun, experienced and fantastic teacher. I would love to hear from you and be your teacher. I specialise in English, Maths and 11 plus for years 3-5. I am also experienced in year 6 SATS with excellent results, noted in OFSTED reports. My lessons will start with a fun, quick starter consolidating previous learning. Then I will do a 10 min teaching input and explain the learning objective. I will go through some examples and then you will do an independent activity. I will be monitoring and checking with you that you understand what to do and offer help if you find any area challenging. Then we will mark the work together and go through the ones that you got wrong. I first started tutoring in 2017 with Kip McGrath in Chadwell Heath. I enjoyed working a the centre and teaching 1:1. My students all passed their SATS and 11 pls exams without problems. I love English and enjoy helping children explore the beauty of reading, learning how to write effectively for an audience. I live for that AHA! moment when my students first understand a new concept or see how the lesson applies directly to their lives. I get excited when students see improvement or when they are able to struggle through to mastery. Because II can teach Math, English, verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Grammar and Spellings. As these successes build on one another my students grow in confidence. Helping students discover their strengths and then develop those strengths into regular habits of mind is extremely rewarding for me. Knowing that I have helped students move forward with skills they will use for the rest of their lives is gratifying and truly fulfilling for me. I would describe my teaching style as coaching. Instead of offering answers to my students, I try to ask the right questions, and with the help of demonstration and group activities they should find the answers. In my opinion, the young generation lacks critical thinking and creativity. One of the favourite things about being a Tutor, is being able to guide pupils on their way to success with their studies. It's wonderful to see a pupil grasping a subject and feeling confident enough to write and talk about it. All students are individuals, and everyone learns in their own unique way. I use multiple methods of teaching (linguistic, visual, auditory, kinesthetic) to reach students, so that no one is left behind. My fun lessons and the way I explain objectives in different ways. My achievements as a teacher: 1.
