A bit about Katie M

I specialise in teaching general English to teenage, and adult students of all levels and abilities. My lessons are fun, communicative and student centred with a focus on all skills including reading, writing, listening and speaking. As a qualified and experienced ESL Tutor, I help my students to improve every aspect of their English, including their knowledge and use of grammar. Hello! My name is Katie, and I am a qualified ESL Tutor with over 13 years’ experience. During my career, I have taught students of all ages and abilities in private language schools and universities in Poland, Saudi Arabia, the UK and Spain. When I’m not teaching, I love walking my little chihuahuas in the beautiful, Welsh countryside, watching movies and reading books. I’m also really into music and I enjoy playing the piano, even though I am not very good at it! My lessons are always based on the specific needs of my students and will therefore vary from class to class. However, regardless of the lesson type, be it a conversation class, or a grammar-based lesson, my plan will always include some or all core skills with a focus on speaking. I also aim to introduce/review related vocabulary in every class. Being an ESL Tutor is, in my opinion, one of the most rewarding roles out there! There is nothing better than seeing a student grow and develop the skills necessary for meaningful and effective communication in English. It’s always such a joy to share in my students’ successes, no matter how great or small!
