A bit about Gemma W

I am a music graduate and wish to support student's education in 3 of my favourite subjects - music, maths, and English. At secondary school I achieved an 8 (A*) in maths, a 7 (A) in English Literature and Language and an A in Music. I continued with my music and English Literature academically at A-Level, achieving a B and C and I continued enjoying maths as a hobby (maybe I should get a life!) Whilst continuingwith my music studies, I am an avid reader and have been a cover supervisor and teaching assistant around schools in Liverpool to make sure I am in-touch with the curriculum an the way people learn as times constantly change! I specialise in music and am still active in English literature, English language and, maths. I can help with practical lessons, exams, and essays. In music, I specialise in clarinet and saxophone lessons, music theory, music history, and music politics. For English, I specialise in literature and analysis. I will always work to base the lessons around the students' needs. We would discuss what we would like to go over for the next lesson and I will provide extra work for you to practice if you so wish. I have experience covering classes at short notice which means trying to support student's to the best of my ability. With my experience as a teaching assistant, I have supported students with a variety of additional needs, so I am more than happy to tutor people with specific needs! I started tutoring at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in Easter 2020. Since then, I have tutored both online and in-person so I would be more than happy to tutor either way, due to traveling via public transport tutoring online would be most ideal but this can be discussed! I started tutoring to help provide the support I wish I had when I was a student. I love teaching because I always seem to learn something new, too! I love hearing different ideas and developing them rather than forcing my own opinions onto students. I wish to allow students to develop their own way of learning and memorising topics. With tutoring, it is fantastic seeing the impact I have on students and seeing them develop and understand a topic.
