A bit about Emilie D

I am a fully qualified teacher/ tutor with over ten years experience, teaching from Primary to GCSE's. I have lots of SEND experience and home schooling experience. I specialise in teaching Maths and English (Language and Literature). I have experience working with AQA and Edexcel exam boards. My English Literature specialisms are Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Lord of the Flies, Inspector Calls and Christmas Carol, along with the Power and Conflict poetry anthology. I tailor all of my tutoring sessions to each individual pupils needs. Having the aim to provide a positive learning experience, developing confidence, knowledge and independence. I ensure all of my sessions are engaging, allowing lots of opportunities for questioning and to 'have a go'. I deal with any gaps in learning and any misconceptions, along with providing challenge. I provide engagement and progression through tailored sessions, challenge, questioning and lots of discussion. I believe all children have the ability to learn and have the right to enjoy learning. Sharing the positive experience with pupils of their journey from not having any self-confidence or self-belief to them having full confidence in their own knowledge, ability and skills.
