A bit about Daniel J

I am currently a doctoral (PhD) researcher in Human Geography at Newcastle University, and have previously graduated from Royal Holloway University of London with both BSc and MA degrees. I have lots of experience of teaching all ages and abilities, and adopt a relaxed, person-focused approach to my tutoring. I specialise in Human and Cultural Geographies, as my current research is within this area. I specifically write and research about disability, social activism and research methods, but have experience in teaching a range of areas up to degree level, including but not limited to 'biogeography', 'economic geographies', 'development geographies', 'fieldwork', sociology and 'key skills / writing skills' My philosophy in teaching, across all levels, is that not only do I want my students to be aware of and fully understand the course content, course syllabus, etc, but I also am passionate about encouraging independent thoughts. This can be fully fledged arguments, or unpolished, unfinished trains of thoughts. I help to take those, and work with my students to come up with their own opinions, thoughts, etc. It's so much more than just 'passing'.
