A bit about Noel F

I, Dr. Noel Thomas, BSc 2 ii Hons Salford University, PhD UWIST now Cardiff University, taught organic and medicinal chemistry for more than 25 years initially at the University of Bath, England. I was formerly a professor of organic chemistry at the University of Malaya (Malaysia). I also taught pre-university chemistry (on the American Degree Transfer Programme) at the Methodist College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia before I retired and returned to the UK. My speciality is organic/medicinal chemistry (graduate level), physical, inorganic and organic chemistry at A Level. I have also tutored GCSE students. I taught organic/medicinal chemistry at Bath University for five years starting in 1990 after postdoctoral studies at Duke University USA. I lectured and conducted research at several universities in Malaysia including the oldest and most prestigious university in Malaysia, the University of Malaya. I was there for 14 years. I have also tutored A level students studying under Cambridge A level, London and WJEC exam boards. I also taught pre-university students under the American Degree Transfer Program ,similar in many ways to A level chemistry. My intention is to make thinking deeply about chemical problems exciting, fun, challenging, and relevant, while not ignoring the ethical implications of what chemists do, including learning from history. I would like to encourage all students with these words: please don’t give up. I teach GCSE and A level students - experienced with all major exam boards including Cambridge A level, London and WJEC exam boards. I also taught pre-university students under the American Degree Transfer Program ,similar in many ways to A level chemistry.
