A bit about Amy L

Through volunteering and teacher training, I experienced how difficult it can be to provide each individual with the tailored support they need to reach their full potential. During my teaching career to date, I have strived to celebrate all achievements made by all of my pupils, no matter how small they may seem to others. My teacher training was completed through a 4 year bachelors degree and includes a specialism in SEND and inclusion, which has lead to me currently studying for a SENCO masters qualification. I am qualified and experienced in all primary age ranges, from early years (nursery and reception) to upper KS2 and SATs. I also have a number of certificates around safeguarding and religious education. I feel my teaching style is best described as relaxed and supportive, focusing on my pupil's strengths and how they learn best. My lessons will usually follow the pattern of recap, learn, discuss, apply with more of a focus on discuss. I find this is the best way to assess a child's understanding and where they may need me to focus so they can fully grasp what we have learnt.
