A bit about Russell H

I have an Honours degree in Mathematics and Physics. I also have a PGCE (S) in Maths, Physics and Science. Most importantly, I have lots of experience working with students from all kinds of backgrounds and abilities. I am a full time professional teacher with over 20 years experience in public and private secondary schools. I enjoy working with people, especially young people. I love problem solving and helping students to find their way. Maths and Science can be difficult and it's amazing when a student suddenly 'gets it'. Students say that they feel relaxed and confident in my class. I think it's essential to be in the right frame of mind to learn, and creating an environment where the learner feels safe is one of the most important things. Safe to ask questions. Safe to make mistakes. Safe to be themselves. I have experience teaching all secondary school ages and levels so no matter what year or board you are studying for please get in touch and hopefully I will be able to help you out. I specialise in making students feel good. I listen to what students want and tailor my sessions to individual needs. I like helping to build confidence and learn self study techniques so that students are eventually able to achieve success on their own. My favourite areas to teach are GCSE level Maths and Physics.
