A bit about Laura B

As an experienced tutor of history, I aim to bring the past to life so we can all learn for the future. I am knowledgeable in OCR, AQA and Edexcel. I am a tutor in revision techniques as well as in essay writing. I am also experienced in English, Maths, Science and Geography up to GCSE level.

I am a mum of three children (aged15, 13 and 7). I have over 5 years experience within both the home education and traditional school setting. I am passionate about education and helping pupils to achieve their goals in a fun and engaging learning environment.

My teaching style is predominately student led. I work with pupils to assess their strengths and weaknesses. I use a variety of different methods of teaching and I aim to provide a fun and engaging learning environment for everyone.

What I love most about teaching history is finding out all the events of the past. By investigating and research I have found that history is a never ending opportunity to learn.

My favourite thing about being a tutor is meeting people and learning all about them as well as being able to help achieve their dreams and to excel in what they enjoy. By approaching subjects from a student led view point I have discovered that even the most difficult lesson can be mastered with fun.

I cover KS3, GCSE in History, English, Maths, Science, and Geography. As well as A-Level History. I am knowledgeable in OCR, AQA and Edexcel exam boards.

My students find my teaching style adaptable to their needs, as well as being fun and engaging. Having been told my love of learning is infectious I hope to share my knowledge with others.
