A bit about Lindsay

I have been a teacher for over 20 years, mainly in primary schools, but most recently I have worked with students with special needs in a secondary school. I am currently working as an academic mentor alongside tutoring. I specialise in the primary age range. Throughout my career, I have taught every year group from Nursery to Year 6, including the usual SATs revision. As a tutor, as expected, I covered mainly Maths and English and worked alongside schools and parents to break down barriers to learning, close any gaps and give children the confidence to learn. Students like that I tailor to their exact needs. Once I get to know them and understand their learning styles, I plan accordingly. I also understand how studying with a tutor 1:1 can be intense so I make sure the session is broken up to allow for brain breaks and/or fun games which can also consolidate learning. I listen to my pupils and ensure what I do is what works best for them.
