A bit about Omar G

Hi, I'm Omar, raised and educated in London. I enjoy reading, travelling and keeping fit and active when I'm not tutoring. I have a love for Maths and Science which is why I've always enjoyed learning about them and seek to work with these subjects even beyond school. I believe these subjects can be easy and enjoyable to all with the right guidance. For me, the best teaching styles are based around encouragement and support and so this is what I practice, alongside allowing my enthusiasm for my subjects shine through to my students. I have 8 years of experience tutoring kids of a range of ages, from primary school all the way up to A-Level, and believe any student can achieve their goals if they are helped in the right way and this is what I am here to make them realise. I specialise in tutoring Maths and Science from Primary School level to GCSE Level (Maths to A-Level) and also 11+ Non-Verbal and Verbal exams. Having taken all of these exams myself, gone through the school system and made it to a prestigious university (I attained my Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London) I know what it takes to withstand the pressures of the modern school system and still thrive. I am here to help others do that and realise their love for their subjects. From breaking down difficult concepts to make them more understandable, to building confidence, to correct exam technique and handling the present-day expectations of exams and modern school life, I am here to help. In a single school year (year 11) I helped one of my students go from a D in Chemistry to a B+ which he attained in his GCSE. This was particularly rewarding as it wasn't about bettering a student who already grasped the subject, it was about teaching someone who had no ability or belief in the subject and completely turned that around. It's all down to hard work, dedication and the right guidance. I also had a year 6 11+ student who got into the most competitive state school in the borough, starting from scratch in Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning with no prior knowledge of the subjects. I have taught Maths from primary school to A Level - all syllabuses at GCSE and OCR MEI at A Level; and Physics and Chemistry from primary school to GCSE - again, all syllabuses at GCSE. 11+ Non-Verbal and Verbal Reasoning I am familiar with all content and it is the same core concepts everywhere, across the board. I first started tutoring 8 years ago, straight out of university, as a way to pass on my knowledge and enjoyment for my subjects to a future generation of students. I have been tutoring ever since.
