A bit about Clare F

Qualified teacher of psychology and sociology both at A level and GCSE. I love teaching and would be happy to help you achieve your goals. I have examined for AQA A level and Edexcel GCSE so I know what examiners want in a response. Psychology and sociology. Normally a low stakes quiz, followed by something to get you hooked, then content followed by deliberate practice and a plenary to check how you feel about the topic we have covered. I’ve tutored occasionally in the past but was teaching full time so didn’t have that much time spare! Now I’m available for more tutoring. The thing I love most about teaching my subject is when students get it! Psychology is a tricky subject but also opens your mind to explaining peoples behaviour in so many different ways. Responsive to students needs, exam skills focused and sometimes a bit quirky. Helping students to understand something that they didn’t understand in class! That eureka moment. That I’m fun, easy going and adaptive. All of my teaching career has been amazing and seeing students get their goals is the biggest success. I have have Bsc joint honors in sociology and psychology and a PCGE. I was inspired to become a teacher because teachers at my school weren’t all that good sometimes and I thought ‘I can do better than that!’. So I was motivated to become a teacher becuase I thought I could inspire and teach better than them. I continue to try to do this. Canoeing, wild swimming, traveling, Gardening. AQA and Edexcel (for GCSE). I’ve taught GCSE from year 9 through to year 11 and year 12 and 13 for A level.
