A bit about Gemma T

My favourite thing about being a tutor is watching students develop and mature throughout the year. Getting good results is amazing and always what I want the end goal to be but sometimes just being able to see a student develop their skills and improve their confidence is what makes me love my job. I've taught across a variety of exam boards and year groups which means I can draw on all my different experiences to help a range of students. I've taught WJEC GCSE, AQA GCSE, Pearson/Edexcel GCSE and functional skills. I've also taught the recently reformed new functional skills qualifications. I've taught all the way from year 7 up to year 11 and beyond. My main focus has been post 16 education, especially GCSE resits from ages 16-21. I would say my teaching style is very adaptive. I want all of my students to feel like they are getting something out of my sessions and if they aren't I'm not afraid to change what we are doing. I often combine many of my lessons with multi-media to make them engaging and give students a deeper understanding of texts. I like to build students up so they feel supported but remove these supports as time goes on.
