Oxford-educated and qualified German and French teacher
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
My students speak their target language (German or Franch) from their first lesson, with online prompts to make it all possible. I teach in the target language as much as possible and you'll be surprised how quickly you start to understand. I generally recommend at least one lesson a week, with homework between classes to consolidate what has been learned in class. My students tell me that my enthusiasm is infectious!
I have a languages degree from Oxford University and a post-graduate languages teaching qualification from University College London/Institute of Education. I was also delighted to be awarded a British Council Languages Teaching Excellence Scholarship.
I teach anyone from 10 years old upwards, right through to adult learners, who are very welcome. I teach any GCSE board, including the iGCSE. I also teach German from scratch and encourage students to sit qualifications recognised by European employers. I've been tutoring for over six years and have found online learning really useful for my students, as it cuts out travel time, and students can be wherever they want to be, as long as they find somewhere private to focus on the lesson.
My teaching style is to ensure that each student is spending most of the class reading, writing or speaking German. I also ensure that we are constantly checking on what has been learned and ensuring that students feel confident in what they have learned. I ensure that all four operations - speaking, reading, writing and listening are developed through class and homework. The best thing is to arrange a free online meeting, so that you can sample a lesson with me. Have a go! I use onscreen prompts to help students speak, until they can manage without them. We will do a lot of work verbally and use homework time between classes to consolidate what you have learned in class.
