A bit about Alexandra

Being a Creative Mindfulness Practitioner with specific CPD training in Mental Health and Wellbeing, students and parents love my caring, patient and warm approach that I have to teaching. No answer is too "silly" and I encourage children to believe in themselves and their abilities, their confidence in themselves is very important to me. Along with my GCSE'S all grade B or above, I have A-Level's in English, French, Drama and Psychology. I then went on to study Performing Arts at Leeds University, before completing a PGDE in Primary Education. I am also a Youth Mental Health First Aider and Accredited Creative Mindfulness Practitioner, with a diploma in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I started tutoring during the first lockdown in 2020 to support children who were learning at home. I love to tailor my lessons to the needs, interests and abilities to my students, working 1:1 to ensure that all of their needs are met and catered to. Seeing the smile on families' faces is definitely up there with my favourite thing about being a tutor! My lessons always begin with a starter activity, focusing on addressing pre-existing knowledge from our last session. We then move onto the main objectives and work through fun activities, worksheets and my much-loved 'hot seat' challenges! To finish, we work through plenary task to review aims and consolidate the students' learning.
