A bit about Manoor

As a fourth-year medical student and experienced tutor for six years, I bring a wealth of expertise and dedication to my teaching. Proficient in subjects ranging from Maths, English, Science to A-level Bio and Chem, I tailor my approach to each student's needs. I receieved all As/A*s (7-9) for GCSEs and A-level and I guide students through challenges with understanding and encouragement. Clear communication and empathy are central to my teaching philosophy, ensuring students grasp concepts fully while feeling supported. My ultimate goal is to create a motivating learning environment where students feel confident and empowered to succeed. I specialise in teaching English, Maths, and Science for KS3 and beyond. Additionally, I offer tutoring in A-level Chemistry and Biology. My expertise in Chemistry and Biology stems from my own A-level studies in these subjects My lessons typically begin with a focus on covering the content comprehensively, ensuring students have a solid understanding of the material. I use various teaching methods and resources to make the content engaging and accessible. Once the content is understood, I incorporate exam practice to reinforce learning and prepare students for assessments. This includes practicing exam-style questions, discussing exam techniques, and providing constructive feedback to help students improve their performance. By combining content delivery with exam practice, I aim to build both knowledge and confidence in my students, ultimately helping them achieve their academic goals. I started tutoring 6 years ago. My favorite aspect of being a tutor is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by helping them achieve their academic goals. There's immense satisfaction in witnessing the moment when a concept clicks for a student or seeing their confidence grow as they master a subject. Being able to provide guidance, support, and encouragement along their learning journey is incredibly rewarding. Ultimately, knowing that I've played a part in empowering someone to succeed academically brings me great joy and fulfillment. My teaching style revolves around a structured approach that prioritises content comprehension followed by practical application through exam questions. Initially, I focus on thoroughly covering the material, ensuring students grasp fundamental concepts and principles. I employ various teaching methods to make the content engaging and accessible, catering to different learning styles. Once the content is understood, I seamlessly integrate exam practice into the lessons. This involves guiding students through exam-style questions, discussing strategies for tackling different question types, and providing constructive feedback to enhance their performance. By combining content delivery with targeted exam practice, I aim to equip students with both the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their assessments My teaching philosophy is centered on fostering a supportive and empowering learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. I believe in the importance of personalised instruction, tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student. I strive to create engaging and interactive lessons that inspire curiosity and promote active participation Students often appreciate my interactive and engaging teaching style, which keeps them actively involved in the learning process. I strive to make lessons enjoyable by incorporating a variety of teaching methods, such as visual aids, discussions, and hands-on activities, to cater to different learning preferences. Additionally, students value the clarity and accessibility of my explanations, which make complex concepts easier to understand. I also provide ample opportunities for questions and discussion, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and seeking clarification when needed. Overall, students enjoy feeling actively engaged and supported in their learning journey, which fosters a positive and enriching educational experience. One of the most fulfilling moments in my teaching journey was witnessing a student's remarkable transformation from struggling with a subject to mastering it with confidence and enthusiasm. This particular student had been grappling with complex mathematical concepts for quite some time, feeling discouraged and overwhelmed by the material. Through patient guidance, tailored support, and persistent encouragement, we worked together to break down barriers and build a solid foundation of understanding. Over time, I watched as their confidence grew, their comprehension deepened, and their academic performance improved significantly. The ultimate success came when they not only excelled in their exams but also developed a genuine passion for the subject 4th year med student - cover foundations of biology and chemistry in more depth A levels in Chemistry (A*) , biology (A*), English Literature (A*) 12 GCSES A/A* I was inspired to become a teacher by a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Witnessing the transformative influence of dedicated educators during my own academic journey planted the seed of inspiration within me. Their passion for teaching and genuine care for their students left an indelible mark, igniting my own passion for education. I believe in the power of knowledge to uplift and empower individuals, and I am driven by the opportunity to share my expertise and enthusiasm for learning with others. Being a teacher allows me to foster growth, instill confidence, and shape the future by equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life.
