A bit about Kelly

I have taught Psychology and Sociology in inner city London schools for the past 11 years, with the last 5 being as a head of department and private tuition outside of school. I have also marked for AQA, OCR, and Edexel exam boards, so have an excellent understanding of exam board requirements and exam technique. I enjoy working closely with students to ensure my lessons are tailored to their learning style and academic needs, this is regularly reviewed and progress monitored to ensure they can reach their goals. I also offer lessons in motivation, revision/learning techniques, creating revision timetable and UCAS applications. I would usually start with a free of charge meeting with the potential student to understand their areas of strength and weakness across the course. I will also discuss what their goals are both within the academic subject and further afield to ensure I can get to know them and assist with motivation. I will then go away and plan a series of lessons based on the responses to this discussion and the preferred learning methods of the student. I first started tutoring in 2015 alongside my job as a teacher, I enjoy getting to know students on a one to one level and providing them with support that I am sometimes not able to in the classroom due to big class sizes and time restrictions.
