A bit about Nicole L

I am a qualified teacher and professional tutor with over 5 years experience. I led departments and taught across a range of subject and levels in the Social Sciences and Humanities: Sociology (KS4-KS5); Economics (KS4-KS5 and AP Economics); History (KS3); Citizenship (KS4); Religious Studies (GCSE and iGCSE). I have an undergraduate degree in Social Policy and a MA in Social Justice and Education. I am passionate about Education, both in traditional and alternative settings and believe that one-on-one or small group support can be truly beneficial to students progress and confidence. Social Sciences and Humanities, University Application Support, Revision Timetable Organisation I offer lessons between 60-90 minutes in length online. These will involve a variety of activities: teacher-led presentations; debates; games; recall quizzes; exam question practice and feedback. I am happy to focus on content or exam skills - whichever is more useful to you! I started tutoring whilst I was completing my undergraduate degree 10 years ago. I have 5 years classroom teaching experience in London secondary schools and have tutored alongside my teaching job throughout this period. Since leaving the classroom full-time, I tutor, homeschool and mentor young people across a range of subjects, both online and in-person The social sciences have entirely shaped who I am as a person and the values through which I live my life. I hope that through teaching my subjects, that students will feel similarly in the future about their lives and values. I like to place content within the wider debates and frameworks of the subject. I think that my experience in the classroom over the years has really enabled me to establish where each lesson or bit of content fits within the wider story of the subject. I find that this is useful in allowing my students to better understand often tricky content!
