A bit about Peter C

I'm a very experienced traveller who has experienced life in nearly forty countries. I have more than seven years experience teaching English as a foreign language in the UK and abroad. I want my students to enjoy my lessons because I believe that is the best way to effectively learn a language. So I try to make my lessons as relaxed, fun and interesting as possible. I am learning Spanish myself so I have the added advantage of knowing how it feels to be a student trying to learn a foreign language. I specialize in teaching English as a foreign language. I teach conversation, grammar, pronunciation, confidence, reading and writing. I also teach exam preparation for B1, B2, C1, C2, and IELTS. I only conduct my lessons in the target language - English. I start my lessons with a brief 'warmer' to introduce the student(s) to the subject in a fun and interesting way. Then I give them a brief rundown of the structure of the lesson, what it will entail and what new things they will learn. After I present the concepts/material we perform a brief comprehension to make sure the student understands what he/she needs to do. They perform their tasks/exercises followed by feedback and error corrections. We redo or go over the exercises again and again, each time improving the new skills they've learnt. At the end of the lesson we review what they have learnt. I first started tutoring in 2013 at the Kent School of English in Broadstairs, England. The Kent School of English specializes in teaching English as a foreign language to students from all the World. I've also done volunteering work as an English teacher in the Indian Himalayas. I've taught English as a foreign language at the Fantoni Institute school in Clusone, Bergamo, Italy. My teaching style is relaxed, fun and interesting. I understand how nervous a student can feel trying to speak a foreign language with a native speaker of the target language. Therefore I try to make the student feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. My favourite thing about being an EFL tutor is the satisfaction that comes with experiencing students improve in their ability and confidence with the new language they are learning. my min interest outside of teaching is travelling. I have travelled and lived in forty countries in five continents. Experiencing travelling and different cultures is a great advantage for me and my students when it comes to finding interesting topics to discuss.
